Compared to other countries, Thailand and the Philippines dental fee rates are far too affordable than US and Europe. Dental services like dental restorations, tooth extraction and dentures cost are 1/4 to 1/6 of the price from US. According to Dr.Joel Gutierrez, in Australia, it would ordinarily take 6 months to 2 years just to get an appointment with a dentist. It has also been observed that dental fees are extremely exorbitant. In the Philippines it would take minutes to an hour to get quality dental treatment.
Thai dentists find it enethical to advertise. The same with the Philippines where our code of ethics are specific about the practice of advertising. According to Dr. Jaurigue, there are over 11, 000 dentists in Thailand and about 6, 000 in Bangkok. These numbers probably affect the dental rates in Bangkok. Practically the same as the Philippines where there are probably more than 13, 000 dentists.
